Red One Introduction - Summer 2009 Courses

Cine Digital Canarias has been involved in courses and education since 1999 and are strong believers that the best way “to learn” is “to do”. Therefore all of our courses are full of activity and we introduce the theory in a casual way as we go along.

In this 5-day course all participants are active and we allow a maximum of four participants per camera at a time.

As if learning to know the Red One hands on was not enough fun, we hold our summer courses in Fuerteventura, and allocate sufficient free time to let you enjoy the sun and the ocean in a relaxed environment. If you are an ocean lover like us, you can have a dive experience at the Great Moray Reef courtesy of Cine Digital Canarias.

HMI Lighting for Digital Cinema - Summer 2009 Courses

This is also a 5-day course that runs parallel to the Red One Introduction courses. Doing so maximizes the experience for both parties. Thanks to the lighting we are able to appreciate the potential of the camera and thanks to the camera we are able to preserve and admire the efforts of the lighting department.

The course emphasizes on the technical aspects of electrical distribution, HMI lighting, textiles, lighting control and standard grip equipment. A lighting truck loaded with luminairs from 200w to 4000w will be at our disposition at all times as well as lighting personell from Ventura Films, who will be hosting the event.

CDC’s Custom Prime Lens Package was prepared in our facilities and is unique in the world. It takes advantage of the golden days of still photography: The Contax/Yashica lens series. All lenses have been adapted to fit the Red Camera, offering DOPs the image quality and creative freedom of high-end Zeiss glass at an affordable price. We have worked with a number of Focus-Pullers & DOPs from the cinema industry who greatly appreciate having budget access to 1st class image performance despite of some limitations in terms of robustness and workflow when compared to cinema optics. In all cases, our clients were able to adjust and achieve remarkable results. If you would like know more about our lens system or see some sample footage, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The Power Inverter Package offers clean power to safely charge Red Brick batteries from a 12v battery or a vehicle on location. It can be used for powering the Director Monitor or an offload station for backing up the footage on location.

These simple items will provide good results for most common situations. They can also be used to capture reference sound by mounting the shotgun mic on the Red Camera or sending a wireless signal from the sound mixing desk.

Red Underwater Camera Housing: €280/day - €1120/week

A custom made alminum underwater housing rated 75m. Power, trigger, white balance and focus assist controls. Simple manual iris and focus control to fit a variety of optics including our Zeiss wide angle lenses and the popular Red Zoom 18-50mm. Optional offboard housing for the Red LCD. Optional 10m BNC cable to allow surface monitoring and waterproof connectors to extend to further distances to a monitor with HD-SDI input.

Underwater cinematography is a complex speciality and CDC staff is ready to provide you with professional advise and all the infrastructure necessary to achieve a good shot. You can rent the bare housing or ask for a complete pack of housing, operator camera and optics.
